Gold Rush 2009      
July 13th - 16th

We had a great time in Lexington, KY. The opening ceremonies brought out the creative side of Chapters throughout the country. Colorful hats, signs and costumes. One Chapter came as a chain gang...chain included.
 
Triangle Park which was located between the host hotel and the convention center was where the bike show, hat contest and various other activities were held. It was a relaxing retreat if you wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle for awhile. They had a beautiful fountain running the length of the park.

We visited the Kentucky Horse Park and toured the museum. They put on a fun horse show for GWTA. Next year the park will be hosting the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010, September 25 to October 10, 2010. This will be the first time that the event will be held outside of Europe so the city is preparing for the on-slaught of visitors.
 
The rides in the country were breathtaking. We took curvy tree lined roads to get to the lush horse farms where we saw magnificent homes, horses grazing and water fountains.
 
It was a wonderful week chatting with  friends, riding and food.
